Confused... do I bet Fernando Verdasco or Kei Nishikori?

Verdasco is the better player but he's played like crap lately and is coming off a grueling 5-setter. Nishikori is improving but still has a sub .500 record on the hard court. Betting odds only have Verdasco at -190. Oddsmakers seem to want money on the bigger name (Verdasco). It looks easy. I want to bet the underdog just because of that.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Don't let them sucker you in. Verdasco is the play.

I'm leaning toward Nishikori at this point to be honest. Fresh legs and Verdasco is tired and struggling. On top of that, Nishikori is quick and is tough to ace. He also doesn't have much of a serve. That means that Verdasco will have to deal with plenty of balls in play and will be constantly moving. I just have a feeling that his legs give out and he loses the 4th and 5th set if it gets that far. Verdasco wins if he claims the first 3. Tough call.

Verdasco took it easily. His game looks to be coming back but I still question how strong his legs will be in the Aussie Open.

Well, that was my opinion, seemed like an overreaction to a guy as fit as him playing five sets and coming right back. That next match isn't usually where they'll feel it. And that line looked clearly over-adjusted to me.

Good call.
